Overview The Personnel Department (Office of the Chief Personnel Officer) Trinidad and Tobago commenced a strategic planning exercise in 2001. This case study outlines the Personnel Department's strategic planning process, taking into account the impact of the training provided by CARICAD, and examining the successes and challenges of the exercise. This case study will discuss the factors that led the Personnel Department to embark on a course of strategic planning and the activities that culminated in the production of a Strategic Plan encompassing a set of programmes for whose accomplishment Divisions of the Department had responsibility.
