Query DB2 XML Data With SQL

Overview The DB2 Viper release, now in beta, features significant new support for storing, managing, and querying XML data. In this paper, learn how to query data stored in XML columns using SQL and SQL/XML. A subsequent paper will illustrate how to query XML data using XQuery, a new language supported by DB2. Although DB2's hybrid architecture represents a significant departure from previous releases, exploiting its new XML capabilities doesn't have to be a painful process. If one is already familiar with SQL, one can immediately apply the skills to working with XML data stored natively in DB2.
