Web Video: Enable a Richer Experience With Metadata

Overview Video has become an integral part of a true web experience. In many ways web video is like television; however, the web allows for a much richer interactive experience than just passively watching television. With a keyboard, mouse, and other input devices nearby, a viewer can interact much more actively with video content than is possible sitting back on a couch with a remote in hand. Enabling a true interactive experience with the end user requires more descriptive data about the content they are watching, regardless of the format and location in which they view the content. The rise of web 2.0 technology facilitates the end user's contribution, commenting, and even correction of the metadata associated with content.
