Applications of LOM and XML in Web-Based Distance Learning

Overview In this paper, a set of distance learning system models based on revised OMT and UML are presented. They are designed to describe the systems functionality, static data structures, and user interfaces for NCEC system, a EU sponsored distance learning project. The development technologies used in the distance learning systems are also investigated comprehensively in accordance with recent advances of LOM and the second generation web publishing technologies.
