German Legal Search Engine Improves Availability and Performance With Standards-Based Dell Technology

Overview Juris operates a search engine for legal information. The system was originally implemented on a mainframe, with little modification to the core infrastructure in 20 years. As a result, user needs could not be fulfilled. In addition, high leasing, software and services costs were incurred. Juris worked with Dell to design a scalable solution to ensure that user requirements could be met. The search engine was migrated to standards-based Dell PowerEdge servers and blade servers under Suse Linux. The Oracle 10g database has been implemented as an Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) with scalability and high-availability. Juris also benefits from Dell's Gold Enterprise Support.
