Spyware/Adware - The Risks
Overview Malware is the generic term for malicious code which is executed on a computer. This paper attempts to describe what adware and spyware are, what effects they can have on a system and what risks are associated with them. Most users are probably familiar with other forms of malware such as viruses, worms and Trojans which have now been around for more than 10 years. Spyware and Adware (S&A) are much more recent and although some users will have experienced the effects, they are less knowledgeable about preventative and removal methods.
