CIH Data Corruption and a Data Recovery Technique in FAT32 Systems

Category: Data Management, Security

Tags: virus, data

Overview Virus is a very important phenomenon in to-days world. Day in day out, new virii are being spawn by virus writers all over the world. There seem to be no geographical boundary when it comes to virus writing. This paper deals with data recovery from the effects of the WIN 95 CIH virus that rocked the world of computers and still seems to be wide-spread all around the globe. The main problem arises since the debug registers are used up for data store in the event of an infection by CIH virus and this complicates its tracing.
