The School Implements New Network Infrastructure and Improves Communication and Collaboration
Category: Security, Networking and Communications
Tags: firewall, infrastructure, network, data
Overview The American School of Milan (ASM) launched a program to review its IT infrastructure in response to user requests for improved connectivity and data availability. Ever-increasing student numbers, and constant demand from teachers for better technological facilities, required a complete re-think of the network. Dell, who already supplied the ASM with its hardware and provided technical support on its fleet of desktops and notebooks, took up the challenge by suggesting a four-phase project: migration and development of e-mail systems, implementation of a Web portal solution, upgrading its anti-virus protection and designing a hacker-proof firewall.
