Overview This White Paper profiles spyware and prescribes the various ways organizations can meet the threat head on. Contrast to this with the virus landscape from which spyware evolved. The early pop-up ads are akin to the early forms of computer virus - and were for the most part nothing more than a benign annoyance. It has taken sixteen years for the commercial element to become involved and make them much more aggressive. This is very worrying, because it is way ahead of the type of adoption curve that the security community has traditionally been accustomed to.
