Computacenter Case Study: National Grid UK

Overview National Grid Trancso is committed to applying technology to help enhance its overall efficiency and service standards. As part of its 'Staying Ahead' initiative, National Grid recognised that it could not only make substantial savings but also improve productivity by reducing its estate of area offices. Before National Grid could start on its office reduction programme, however, it had to ensure that it had a remote IT infrastructure in place to support the engineers. Due to both the timescale and the dispersed nature of the project, National Grid opted to partner with an external service provider. Computacenter was already delivering maintenance services to National Grid, and was selected via a formal tender process as the IT services partner for the deployment.
