Overview Ciba Specialty Chemicals is a leading global company dedicated to producing high-value effects for its customers' products. The core challenge was to implement a storage architecture that eliminates the backup and recovery, capacity utilization, and manageability issues associated with an existing DAS environment. The solution to this was achieved by consolidating file shares and Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server databases on a clustered NetApp FAS series solution with a NetApp R200 system for fast D2D backup/recovery. NetApp improved manageability, capacity utilization, performance, and flexibility.
