Lift Manufacturer Reduces Annual IT Salary Costs With Estate Management Solution

Overview Family-owned Stannah, the United Kingdom's (U.K.'s) most successful lift and stair lift manufacturers, wanted to improve the management of its IT estate. Working with Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, Silversands, the company deployed Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003, Active Directory directory service, and Microsoft Windows XP Professional on its desktops. The resulting efficiency gains mean Stannah has avoided expanding its IT help desk by almost 50 per cent, an annual cost saving of £60,000 (U.S. $106,000). Infrastructure management is far more effective as IT personnel no longer have to audit the infrastructure or deploy software manually. Applications can be implemented company-wide overnight instead of taking two weeks. In addition, IT staff can deploy system updates as soon as they become available, improving network security.
