Overview The Carnival Center wanted to establish a flexible network that will support growth and future applications and enable innovative technologies while controlling costs. The challenge was to control and secure network access by disparate user groups and devices as well as simplify and speed management of wired and wireless LANs. To serve its various user groups - now and in years to come - the Center set out to build the most powerful and flexible infrastructure it could afford. Consequently, at the core of the network is 10-Gigabit fiber connecting two physically secured data centers, one built on a 14-slot 3Com Switch 8814 chassis and the other on a 10-slot 3Com Switch 8810 chassis.
