School Network Upgrade Ensures Flexibility & Security Using Allied Telesis Switching Technology

Overview St. Swithun's is one of England's most popular and successful independent schools with a reputation for a very high level of academic achievement. The school was now facing new challenges with a rapidly growing network and demand for features such as CCTV, video streaming and wireless networking. They wanted to provide a secure platform for supporting pupil's own computers alongside (but secure from) the core school network. The IT Department also needed the facility to efficiently broadcast workstation images across the site. St. Swithun deployed Allied Telesis switches with 802.1x port authentication. At the core, the SwitchBlade Layer 3 chassis switch offers the school a network solution that can scale as the school changes.
