Technical White Paper for Rapid Ring Protection Protocol (RRPP)
Category: Networking and Communications
Overview RRPP (Rapid Ring Protection Protocol) is a link layer protocol specially used for Ethernet rings. It can prevent broadcast storms caused by data loops when the Ethernet ring is complete, and can rapidly start up the backup link when a link on the Ethernet ring is disconnected so as to recover the communication paths among the nodes in the ring network.
