For this reason, carriers around the globe are on the threshold of a predestined shift to packet-based aggregation networks, which are widely considered the optimal long-term transport solution for a new level of service. However, the migration plan from an existing multitechnology infrastructure to an all-IP utopia will vary considerably from operator to operator.
