Sun StorageTek 6540/6140: Tuning and Sizing Guide for IBM Lotus Notes/Domino Environments

Overview This paper describes how to size the Sun StorageTek 6540 (ST6540) and Sun StorageTek 6140 (ST6140) to meet the storage demands for an IBM Lotus Domino environment. IBM Lotus Domino is the server product from Lotus which supports a number of client types including IBM Lotus Notes, browsers, IMAP, and POP clients. By far the most common client type is the IBM Lotus Notes client. Out of the box, Domino supports Email, Calendars, Scheduling, and Discussion Databases. In addition Domino is an application platform for collaboration and workflow applications. This paper provides storage sizing and tuning information for the E-mail, Calendars, Scheduling, and Discussion Database type of work load and is applicable to all the client types.
