U.S. Marines Supply Warehouse Wins Inventory Accuracy Battle with Wireless Technology

Overview The US Marine Corps' Intermediate Supply Support Activity (ISSA), located at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina provides repair parts, combat equipment and packaged food rations to Marine forces on the East Coast and remote locations as far away as the Mediterranean, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay. Prior to implementing a wireless system, the US Marine Corps' Intermediate Supply Support Activity (ISSA) used a pen-and-paper based inventory management system to receive, stow, pick and ship supplies that needed to be sent to Marine Forces abroad. The ISSA began looking for a warehouse management system (WMS) and wireless solution that would help them make the transition from paper to wireless. SG Automation was chosen because of its expertise and ability to integrate its WMS with the government's proprietary database systems.
