Performance Analysis of MIMO NLOS OFDM Broadband Fixed Wireless Access Systems

Overview The combination of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) techniques and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) modulation, two powerful technologies in the physical layer design, represents a promising means to provide high-data-rate and high-quality wireless access in presence of Non Line Of Sight (NLOS) propagation. This paper focuses on performance evaluation of a MIMO OFDM NLOS fixed wireless access system adopting Space Time Block Coding (STBC) as diversity scheme. The paper also analyses the dependence of the system performance from the spatial correlation. This paper is based on work in the project BROADWAN, partly funded under the Information Society Technology priority of the European Commission Sixth Framework Programme.
