Continental Airlines Keeps 45,000 Employees in Constant Contact to Keep Customers Flying
Category: Enterprise Applications, Networking and Communications
Tags: management
Overview Flying 67 million passengers in 2006, at an average rate of over six billion passenger miles per month, Continental Airlines serves more cities than any other airline in the world - 286 destinations worldwide. With over 45,000 employees worldwide, and a business dependent on easy-to-use and broadly accessible voice messaging technologies, Continental needed a voice management solution that would keep the airline running smoothly, and its mobile workforce in constant contact. The airline decided to implement a voice and text messaging system that would be accessible at all times and from any point on the planet. With this upgrade, associates who are constantly changing locations would now have the equivalent of virtual offices.
