Convergence of Mobile Devices and Wireless Sensor Networks
Category: Networking and Communications
Tags: cellular, mobile devices, computing
Overview Pervasive computing with mobile devices and wireless sensor networks has been identified as a future area of research. This paper motivates the convergence of those two technologies as introduces new services to the customer. Wireless sensors have the possibility to sense the surrounding world and communicate wirelessly among each other or with the mobile device with in short range. The mobile device offers the well known cellular services to the symbiotic partnership. By means of example scenarios such as for car manufacturing and intelligent housing, the strength of the envisioned convergence is shown and possible architecture forms are classified.
