Large Scale Directory Deployment Performance and High Availability: Oracle Internet Directory, 10g Release 2

Overview Oracle Internet Directory (OID) is an LDAP v3 directory server implementation that leverages the scalability, high-availability and security features of the Oracle database. It can be used as a central user repository to simplify identity administration in an Oracle application environment, and can also serve as a standard based LDAP directory for the heterogeneous enterprise. This paper outlines and showcases the performance and high availability characteristics of OID, using a case study that involved a performance benchmark test, catering to the requirements of a large scale directory deployment.
