Overview Instituto Hondureno de Seguridad Social (IHSS) provides medical services to 15% of the economically active population in Honduras. The institute helps approximately 850,000 beneficiaries annually. The company wanted to unify information into one database that will offer high levels of availability and dependability to increase data control and eliminate duplicate information. The challenge was to provide high levels of service to affiliates and develop online and real-time consultation services. The company ensured a reliable data infrastructure with Oracle Database Enterprise Edition with Real Application Clusters to provide high levels of service to IHSS's various constituencies, even in the event of a natural disaster. The company achieved 24/7 information availability and the ability to add capacity cost effectively with Oracle Real Application Clusters.
