Overview VersaLogic Corp., a leader in embedded computer products, stated that Advanced Medical Optics, Inc. (AMO) has selected its VSBC-6 EBX-compliant Pentium single board computer as the onboard embedded computer in its new high-performance cataract removal, or phacoemulsification, device. The portable device, known as the Sovereign Compact system, breaks the cataract into minute fragments with localized high frequency waves. This new technology significantly helps improve the ease of use of the surgical system and the efficiency of the surgery.
