TCP Performance Over the WiBro Compatible 802.16e Systems
Category: Networking and Communications
Tags: wibro, ip, applications
Overview The study discussed in this paper is the TCP performance over Wireless Broadband access (WiBro) compatible 802.16e system based on the NS-2 simulator. Even though TCP is one of primary applications over the WiBro system, limited work has been done due to lack of appropriate tools to study. The paper developed NS-2 based WiBro simulator that models the behavior of the uplink and downlink of the WiBro system. The main observations are as follows: the uplink service that carries TCP ACK can be a bottleneck and the performance of TCP depends on the number of users in the system.
