Overview In this paper users can become better acquainted with using SuSE Linux on System z. Commands suggested in this paper should work on most SuSE Linux images running SLES8 or newer. In fact, the knowledge is generally valid across most distributions on Linux. Most steps of this paper assume the use of a shell session (ssh) and utilize putty, an open source product, which may be downloaded free off the Internet and run on MS Windows.
