Green Grows Saddleback Valley
Category: Servers and Server OS, IT Management
Overview Saddleback Valley Unified School District needed to refresh its aging HP server farm in an environment of severe budget cutting. Existing servers were poorly utilized and required extensive amounts of power and cooling. The district consolidated and virtualized its HP servers onto 7 Dell PowerEdge 1955 blades running VMware ESX Server 3. A Dell/EMC CX3-20 SAN array provides efficient, centralized backup storage for the virtual machines.
