Harnessing PXE Boot Services in Linux Environments
Category: Servers and Server OS
Overview The Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) is part of the Wired for Management (WfM) specification developed by Intel and Microsoft. The PXE is part of the PC 98 specification; it permits the system's BIOS and network interface card (NIC) to bootstrap a computer from the network. This paper describes the PXE process and explains how to set up a PXE environment on servers that run the Linux operating system.
