European Software Vendor Helps Information Workers Collaborate More Efficiently
Category: Software and Web Development, Servers and Server OS
Tags: cds, microsoft office, office, ftp
Overview File Transfer Protocol (FTP) servers can be too technical and time-consuming for ad-hoc transfers by casual users. Other transfer products and online services have not been designed with information workers in mind and lack essential features such as security and audit trail. The alternative is for employees to burn CDs or DVDs and send them by courier. However, this is a time-consuming process and, on a project involving multiple offices spread across different continents, can create large overheads. Memba has developed Velodoc to integrate with Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. Velodoc is a Web-server and services solution developed on the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 for publishing, sharing, sending, and transferring files of up to 2 gigabytes.
