Sharing Registry Information for More Effective Public Services

Overview The town of Casale Monferrato is a thriving Italian town of 40,000 inhabitants, taking part in the IMAGINE project for digital towns. In order to get information or copies of official documents, citizens of Casale Monferrato were often forced to go to multiple offices and stand in line. A change was necessary in light of Italy's push for more effective public services. An electronic town hall application that delivers online public services, as well as a Council application and a Registry Information Service which allows council employees to share information online with other town hall offices or public administrations were developed using Microsoft Windows NT Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Exchange Server.
