Overview Windows Server 2003 R2 Datacenter and Enterprise Editions are very similar. They share the same binaries, high-end features, and patches, and they are available through Microsoft Volume Licensing and as preinstalled software by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). However, Windows Server 2003 R2 Datacenter Edition has the capability to scale to larger servers: 32 processors with the 32-bit version, and 64 processors with the 64-bit versions.
