Beyond Declarative Validation
Category: Software and Web Development
Tags: enterprise applications, java, applications, data
Overview When building enterprise applications, one has to think about more than just the design of the user interfaces. A lot of the development effort must be spent on efficiently implementing business logic. When one uses Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle ADF) Business Components, it is best practice to encapsulate as much of this logic as possible into the entity objects that constitute the domain business object layer. If one does so, the application will validate and process the important business data in a consistent way, regardless of how it is accessed. The declarative nature of Oracle ADF makes it possible to implement a lot of basic functionality without writing code.
