Leading Value-Added Reseller Deploys New Server and Speeds Access for IT Staff by 20%
Category: Software and Web Development, Servers and Server OS, Networking and Communications
Tags: windows server 2008, sharp, windows server, network, applications
Overview Harlan, Iowa-based Heartland Technology Solutions is a value-added reseller of network technology services for the small-to medium-sized business market and specializes in the education and agriculture sectors. HTS wanted to make sure its competitive edge remained sharp and improve its ability to work remotely without relying heavily on home office resources. They wanted to improve access to LOB applications by the staffs that are in their remote locations. Managing its servers through Remote Desktop and, on occasion, with the HP Integrated Lights-Out technology had become second-nature for a seasoned technical team. Making the decision to upgrade to Windows Server 2008 to gain a better application and portal platform functionality for its employees was equally natural.
