Develop Java Applications for DB2 XML Data

Overview The DB2 Viper release, now in beta, features significant new support for storing, managing, and querying XML data. In this paper, one learns the basics of how to write Java applications that access the new XML data. One will see how to insert, query, update, and delete XML data, how to create stored procedures that access XML data, and more. Writing Java applications that access XML data stored natively in DB2 Viper isn't much different from writing Java applications that access relational data. Indeed, if one is familiar with Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), one already knows much of what they need to begin writing the first DB2 XML application.
