Windows Server 2008 Helps Outsourcing Firm Improve IT Reliability, Serve Customers

Overview As a provider of business process outsourcing, eTelecare is the point of first contact for customers of some of the world's most recognizable brands. To give these customers the best possible experience, eTelecare needs IT systems that operate with nearly continuous uptime. eTelecare recognized that clustering its file servers would promote higher availability of its IT systems. In August 2007, eTelecare began testing the Windows Server 2008 Enterprise operating system on an Intel-based Dell PowerEdge 2950 two-node cluster, focusing on the operating system's failover clustering and other high-availability features. In October, the company expanded deployment to a limited production environment serving about 100 employees.
