Overview When trying to collaborate with clients on large-scale engineering and construction projects, Black & Veatch had few viable options. Many of the plans, specifications, and other documents that needed to be shared were too large to send through e-mail, and posting to File Transfer Protocol (FTP) sites was insecure and created version-control challenges. Black & Veatch decided to deploy a portal based on Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and Windows SharePoint Services. The company now can communicate and collaborate with clients more effectively, and everyone involved in a project has a central source for all documentation and related information.
