HP Canada Develops Business Governance Portal to Manage Post Merger Project Work

Overview The 2002 merger between Hewlett-Packard Ltd. and Compaq Computer Corporation was the largest to take place in the technology sector. Given the size of both HP and Compaq, there was a need to quickly bring together the two diverse organizations. Tools were needed to create and maintain effective communications within the new company. For HP Canada, the merger resulted in a need to create a unified view to shared work. A central repository for project and corporate governance information was created. HP Canada implemented a portal with SharePoint Team Services from Microsoft, Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003. HP Canada's Business Governance Portal project was deployed within nine weeks.
