Florida Child Welfare Agency Improves Care for Kids and Use of Resources

Overview When the State of Florida recently privatized most of its child welfare services, it awarded the contract for an 11-county region in north-central Florida to Partnership for Strong Families (PSF). Seizing a great opportunity to create processes and infrastructure from the ground up, PSF chose to employ mapping technology to help caseworkers operate more efficiently and cost-effectively. The new GeoSpatial Case Manager solution, from Microsoft MapPoint Solution Provider Cubistix, replaces the old paper-based child placement process with an automated, map-enriched process that moves children into foster homes more quickly and has a projected cost savings of 14 percent for every placement.
