Healthcare System Saves Thousands Moving From Netware to Windows 2000
Category: Software and Web Development, Servers and Server OS
Tags: windows 2000, printers, microsoft windows, server
Overview Carolinas HealthCare System is a rapidly growing healthcare organization. In 2000, the organization faced the rising cost of supporting 12,000 users and 1,700 printers with 63 Novell file and print servers. After migrating print servers from Novell's Netware to Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, it is now able to serve the current 2,400 printers, which print over one million pages per week, with only two printer server clusters - and still has room for growth. Running Microsoft Windows 2000, during the past two years Carolinas HealthCare System has been able to add 10,000 new users, and 700 additional printers, while reducing the IT staff's server and user support workload by over 27 percent.
