Motorcycle Trading Firm Boosts Efficiency by 10 Percent With Mobile System

Overview IK Corporation (IK) trades in used motorcycles, selling more than 132,000 bikes in 2007. To accommodate the rapid growth experienced since 1994, it wanted to accelerate the motorcycle assessment process. In the past, manual bike appraisals were time-consuming and new assessors required six months of training to be effective. To improve assessment, IK rolled out Windows Mobile 5.0 and Windows Mobile 6-enabled Sharp EM ONE Pocket PCs. Now, mobile assessors can easily appraise used motorcycles in 15 minutes by inputting details into the light mobile device and receiving the buying price. Additionally, assessors can communicate efficiently in the field. Due to this accurate assessment, sellers are also assured of receiving a fair price.
