Overview Terasen Gas, part of the Fortis Group, is based in Surrey, British Columbia, and is the third-largest utility company in Canada, providing natural gas and propane to 125 communities throughout the province. Access to accurate data in real-time is critical to the company's success, and it needed technology that would enable employees to map activity against performance metrics. Terasen Gas worked with Microsoft partner Habanero Consulting Group to build a new interactive and easily accessible reporting infrastructure based on Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) including SQL Server 2005 and Office Excel 2003. Today managers have easy access to the data they need to make more informed, strategic decisions. The solution has also generated exceptional customer feedback, and further usage and extensions are already being planned.
