Low Ber Turbo Codes for Satellite Communications
Category: Software and Web Development, Networking and Communications
Tags: digital
Overview This paper considers two different turbo-like codes, allowing analytical or semi-analytical tools for the prediction of the performance at very low BER values. These turbo codes are useful for satellite digital broadcasting services requiring quasi error free transmission. The performance of these codes at intermediate error rates is somewhat worse than that of the best turbo codes. However, the error floors are very low, and the asymptotic performance at BER values below 10?10 is guaranteed.
