Overview Trex Enterprises was contracted to develop a prototype generic Laser Hazard Detection System (gLHDS) for use on a UH-1 Huey helicopter. Trex Enterprises wanted challenging thermal requirements, high vibration input, and sensitive electronics required careful design of cooling and isolation systems. The tight schedule did not allow for physical testing to validate design concepts. The company used NX software integrated suite of 3D design and analysis tools to rapidly perform coupled fluid/thermal and dynamic response evaluations of design concepts.
